I’m Tom, your friendly neighbourhood post-production wizard.

I fell in love with filmmaking and storytelling when I first watched Kill Bill, Vol. 1 at the ripe old age of fourteen, with questionable parental oversight, and it put a spell on me. I thought to myself:

“You can make something like this and get paid for it!? I’m in.”

I have been working in the editorial game for over ten years and am an extremely motivated, creative, and strategic editor who approaches every project with a multidisciplinary mindset. My dedication to innovation and pixel perfection sets me apart in the field, and I consistently strive to produce visually compelling work with meticulous attention to detail.

As a seasoned freelancer, I have endeavoured to build upon my experience and abilities as an editor by choosing to work on projects as diverse as possible - from scripted drama to unscripted comedy, corporate promotional material to cinematic trailers, kids’ content and documentaries. This broad background has equipped me with a diverse skill set and a deep understanding of various genres and production styles. As an avid film nerd, I am passionate about storytelling in all its forms, regardless of format.

I thrive in team environments, building relationships that enhance collaboration and motivate those around me. My approach highlights teamwork and problem-solving, and I firmly believe that creativity fuels further creativity, which not only boosts performance and productivity but also ensures we craft a product everyone can be proud of. I want everyone to go home excited and show their mum what they’ve made. My enthusiasm shines through in every production I take on, and I encourage the team to share ideas and push creative limits. I’ve been fortunate to be nominated for and win multiple awards for editing, and to have several projects screened at prestigious festivals worldwide.

At the end of the day, all I’m looking for is the right rug that really ties the room together. When I’m not head down in an Avid keyboard, I’m making short films, doing my best to be a good dad and husband, indulging myself at tasty restaurants, playing video games, getting through my never-ending list of films to watch, and teaching editing and post-production processes in various tertiary institutions.
